The Legend of the Sleepy Hollow Group N°3 (María Ángeles Ortiz, Gonzalo Cueva, David Salgado)

2.  What mood does the setting of this story create?
The mood of the story has a dark atmosphere because Sleepy Hollow is a place where everyone feels scared because they have visions or hear strange noises.

6. Where does Ichabod Crane live? Why does he need to be able to have all of his belongings in a small bundle?
He didn't have an own place and he use to work doing the daily tasks for them in order to stay some nights in the stable of other people or the backyard of their houses.

10.   What would happen to Ichabod when he would walk home at night after spending the afternoon reading? How would he handle that?
When he was on his way to his house at midnight, he saw a strange light in the dark and heard weird noises in the forest, but he thought that it was only his imagination.

14.   Why would it have been crazy for Ichabod to be open about his feelings for Katrina? What gives Ichabod an excuse to visit Katrina at her house?
Because Katrina had lots of suitors who were menacing to hurt Ichabod, specially Brom Bones; who inspired terror in anyone who dared to look at Katrina. The excuse that He was going to visit her house were the singing lessons.

18.   How is Brom Bone’s horse, Daredevil, similar to him in its appearance and actions?
Brom and his horse were lively, courageous, rebel and untamed. Physically, the both were big and strong, muscular and moody, and barely civilized.

22.   What mood is Ichabod in when he leaves Katrina’s house that night? What evidence is there of his mood? What speculation does the author make as to what happened?
He was full of joy at the beggining, but Katrina ignored him completely when he went to talk with her. Ichabod was feeling very disgusted about what happened. The evidence is the expression that Ichabod had after a few minutes he talked to Katrina, so the author thought that Katrina only talked with Ichabod before to cause jealousy in Ichabod's friend or maybe Katrina only wanted to have fun for a while.

26.   What happens when Ichabod slows down or speeds up in an attempt to get away from the dark horse and its rider? What does Ichabod see that makes him so terrified that he sends his horse into full flight?
The headless horseman does the same as Ichadabod so he can't get away from him.  He became frightened when he saw that the rider of the black horse didn't have his head and that he was holding it under his arm.

30.   What makes it seem that Brom Bones knew something about what happened that night?

Because he had a similar story, but he survived. He knew what fears Ichabod might have came across in that night, so he concluded that Ichabod had been kidnapped by the headless horseman.
