All of us have wishes, things that
we want to do, climb a big mountain, meet a famous people, become a doctor,
nurse, engineer, etc, but sadly we leave these dreams because think that is
late to do it or that we can do it in the future, when you “have time” and it
is wrong, the time to be happy, to make your dreams true is right now.
On Friday, I saw and amusing and
interesting movie that relate the story of two old mans, Edward and Carter,
that have terminal ills, they met in the room of a hospital. One day, they were
talking and Carter shows Edward a list of things to do in the life that had
written more time ago, was when Edward had an idea, he added other activities
and propose Carter going away to comply with the list before died, Carter talked
with his wife, Virginia, and she take it bad, they discussed and never agreed,
so he decided “think in himself” and did agree with Edward´s approach. They traveled
around the world and make things that you never can imagine, visited Egypt,
India, inclusive, they had a race using wonderful cars. It description was only
to have a brief idea about the argument of the movie.

If I have to choose a character to
talk about, it will be Carter, because he made me an impression since the first
moment that I listened his form to express and he commoved me with his way to
see the life. Carter had worked like a mechanic for around 46 years , he is diagnosing
of lung cancer to smoke, he is a family man with a beautiful wife, two sons and
a daughter, to say nothing of his grandchild, he had never think to do
something to him welfare, he understand that in the bed of a hospital. Carter doesn’t
have a lot of money, but he has the love of his family, he loves the small details of the human adventure,
but at the same time, he show a serious personality, he hate the things that
can be crazy or meaningless. In the movie, at first he is a prudent man, but when begins his adventure with Edward he gets to enjoy every moment.
I feel
identified with some aspects of Carter´s personality; I think that the most
important of them is the love to the small details in the life because the big
dreams are built of little things, of little hugs, little smiles a set of
little things that contribute to develop skills and goals, other common
characteristic with Carter is that at first the people usually thing that I´m a
grumpy person, but it´s completely false, I always smile!, is more difficult
that someday you see me sad or angry. I would say that almost never I have
other mood different to happiness.
In conclusion,
I think that this movie show us the way that we would live all the days, in
harmony with the people that we love, saying “I love you” without fears,
without shame, and smiling because all the matters have solutions and always we
have people that love us like we are.
