Emotional intelligence means that you can control your feelings and most important to know how to manage them in order to have a peaceful existence with others.
The person that I admire (and i'll always do) is my grandfather, his name was Saul and even though he died 5 years ago my love for him will always be present.
My grandfather had a a really tough childhood because his parents died when he was 9 and he was raised by his older brothers in the little but beautiful town called Sig Sig in the province of Azuay.
He couldn't study more than high school but that was not an excuse for him, he loved reading and getting more and more knowledge from books.
When he was my age he thought the army would be a good way to have a better future for him and his coming family.
I remember he told me his stories about the army. Something about being in the middle of the jungle looking for the closest community because he and his friends found a wounded jaguar.
Also when he was promoted he worked for the intelligence section of the Ecuadorian army in the time we had the conflict with Peru.
His task was to go to political meetings in the city of Lima pretending to be a regular citizen in order to bring back some useful information so he was kind of a spy, really cool isn't it.
Maybe the greatest adventure my grandfather had was meeting my grandmother and having a beautiful family, maybe the one he always dreamed when he was a kid.
This beautiful soul taught me to be sensitive with people, to be polite and most important to appreciate life and its beauty
My grandfather hobbies were parachuting, taking care of his garden, crosswords and reading.
Also I want to share a great memory I have. When I was little he used to carry me in his shoulders to visit some parrots a neighbor use to have and they imitated every word we said.
For me as a child in that moment that was amazing, a colorful bird talking was almost magic.
To finish this text I would like to give an advice, always take care of the people you love, respect him or her and enjoy living by his or her side.Life is really moving fast.
Finally I also would like to share a song that me and my grandfather love
Its important to be grateful with what the life give to us... nice song...
